In 2023 the cities of Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Hazel Park, Oak Park, Madison Heights, Huntington Woods, and Berkely were awarded grant funding to develop a Safety Action Plan.

Project Area

Traffic fatalities are a public health crisis affecting all road users, and it demands a concerted response. Each year, over a million lives are lost globally from traffic crashes. In 2023, there were 1,040 traffic fatalities in Michigan. The project area includes the outlined communities as highlighted below:
